We are looking for a Family Finding Specialist who would be responsible for helping foster care case planners achieve permanency, safety and well-being for children on their caseload by discovering lost family\/supportive adult connections and engaging those connections in permanency planning. Must be willing to work flexible hours in order to accommodate the needs of family\/supportive adults. Essential Functions: Attend Family Finding Model trainings and other trainings related to best practices for building a supportive family network for children in foster care Use the Family Finding Model to identify, locate and track relatives and other supportive adults for children in foster care Engage identified family members\/supportive adults in permanency planning for the child Receive consultation from Family Finding Model experts Create desk aids and other training materials for case planners to improve their own family finding practices and train case planners on the use of those materials Perform all other related tasks Qualifications: A Bachelor\u2019s Degree in social work or a related field A minimum of one year experience working in child welfare (foster care experience preferred) Excellent communication, planning, organizational and multi-tasking abilities Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Comfort traveling throughout NYC It is the policy of Sheltering Arms that the Agency wholly complies with the equal treatment of all employees and applicants for employment without unlawful discrimination as to an individual\u2019s perceived or actual race, creed, color, national origin, alienate, citizenship status, gender, gender identity, age, disability, marital status, partnership status, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, or veteran status in all employment decisions, including but not limited to recruitment, hiring, compensation, training and apprenticeship, promotion, upgrading, demotion, downgrading, transfer, layoff and termination and all other terms and conditions of employment.
