Overall Job Objective Description Under general supervision, provides assistance with coordinating Williams County Youth Assessment Center operations, activities, and personnel. Monitors and ensures the day to day safety and security of facility residentsConducts routine security checks and searches; monitors for suicidal or potentially combative residents; provides crisis intervention as requiredDocuments and maintains daily records of resident behavior, actions, medications and activities; complete daily activity logsCoordinates, assigns and/or provides for daily needs of residents including meal service, laundry service and administration of medicationsSchedules, assigns and/or performs general housekeeping duties; supervises cleaning chores assigned to residentsCoordinates, assigns and/or provides daily resident recreation activities; participates and interacts with residentsAdministers disciplinary action to residents as established by department policyTransports residents to court and other necessary appointments as assignedAssists in arranging visitations and monitoring resident telephone calls as neededLiaises with law enforcement, caseworkers, court personnel, medical providers, schools, parents and outside agencies regarding resident related mattersProvides assistance to staff in monitoring and ensuring compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and regulations governing the delivery of services to at-risk youthMaintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code. Typical Qualifications Education, Experience and License/Certifications:High School Diploma or G.E.D.Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver's License or equivalentMust be at least 21 years old Supplemental Information Preferred Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of methods for interacting with at risk youthKnowledge of general supervisory principles and practices Skill in coordinating County youth assessment center operationsSkill in providing social services and assistance to at risk youthSkill in coordinating resident meal/laundry services and recreational activitiesSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other staff, at risk youth, law enforcement/court personnel, and outside agenciesSpecial Working Conditions:Must be available to provide 24/7 emergency on-call assistance as requiredMust be available to attend classes in Bismarck (3 weeks: Correction Officer School)Exposure to cleaning chemicals and/or infectious diseasesFacility operates on a 24 hours bases - this is an overnight positionCompensation:Compensation for this position ranges from $16.26-$20/hour depending on experience and training.
