Wage range: $ 17.00 to $ 27.00 per hour, depending on number of years of transferable experience and internal equity.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 AM to 5 PM with occasional after hours
SUMMARY : This position is responsible for work on community health initiatives and related Healthy By Design operations including supporting the work of the community health needs assessment and authorship of the community healthy improvement plan. In addition to the supervisor and peer staff, this position will regularly engage with community members and key representatives from hospital sponsoring agencies, Billings Clinic, and St. Vincent Healthcare.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supports the coordination of communication activities and tracking on behalf of Healthy By Design.
Offers research, drafting and delivery assistance related to presentations, grants, reports and other projects as directed.
Maintains, develops, and monitors Healthy By Design social media, website, e-newsletter, email inbox, contact lists for interested parties and inquiries, and other relevant media under the direction of the manager for distribution to interested parties.
Supports maintenance of various Healthy By Design initiatives in Yellowstone County, including the 5-2-1-0 community message, Active Living Every Day classes, and School Wellness Champions toolkit, as appropriate.
Provides data entry, support and maintenance using various database systems.
Provides project support as needed including, registration, community outreach, communication or data collection assistance related to program measurement.
Assists with meetings including setting agendas, reserving meeting space, inviting and tracking attendees, preparing meeting materials, preparing technology, taking minutes and additional related tasks as needed.
Actively engages in the development of community health needs assessment and implementation strategies.
Conducts regular oral and written communication about health promotion goals, facts, policy advocacy and coalition activities.
Designs, implements, and evaluates prevention health campaign strategies in support of the Healthy By Design Coalition.
Serves as a spokesperson for community health improvement and Healthy By Design's mission and vision.
Provides other project and task support as required including preparing correspondence, ordering supplies, and responding to inquiries via phone and email.
Assists in developing work plans and budgets.
Participates in various committees and boards related to associated activities and responsibilities.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other agency, organization and tribal entity representatives.
Organizing, maintaining, and utilizing community coalitions.
Coordinates prevention health activities with outside agencies and organizations.
Works in a team/interdisciplinary team to achieve a common goal.
Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Demonstrates strong organizational and planning skills—functions as a self-starter.
Operates Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook and Adobe Reader, with proficiency.
Participates in emergency preparedness trainings, exercises, and response activities.
Manages time sensitive projects and meets deadlines in an accurate manner.
