DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES\/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Houston Health Department is seeking a highly qualified person to function as a liaison between City administration and the community, providing reference services and information assistance. Plans, organizes and participates in health events and activities (health fairs, presentations, trainings, national observances, etc.) during standard business hours and after hours. Lead adequate coverage of janitorial, security and volunteers at the site Ensures internal and external customers receive positive customer service Handles facility issues and facility rental requests timely Ensures reports are completed, and meetings are scheduled timely with partners Other duties as assigned. DESCRIPTION OF WORKING CONDITIONS The position is physically comfortable, the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS\u00a0 Requires a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Business Administration or a related field. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Two (2) years of experience in community organizational work, resource and referral services, or a closely related field are required. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS Valid Driver's License and compliance with the City of Houston policy on driving (AP 2-2) PREFERENCES **Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.** Bilingual c andidates preferred.
