Creates vision and strategies to improve population-level health in underserved communities, with a focus on clinical care and socio-economic determinants of health. Directs the designs, plans, implementation, and oversees evidence-informed interventions targeting health care access, public policy, institutional systems, and built-environments. Accountable for managing budgets and meeting financial targets. Essential Responsibilities:
Management and Financial Oversight: Community Benefit Director is accountable for managing performance, coaching and developing staff, and overseeing day-to-day operations to meet departmental and regional strategies and goals. The Director will demonstrate financial oversight and accountability for the body of work. Acts on behalf of Executive Director as required, internally and externally.
Business Development and Strategy: Drives and executes Community Benefit vision through implementation of strategies that are aligned with community needs and business imperatives. Leads planning for community health improvement including resource allocation and partnerships. Also guides measurement and evaluation of programs and initiatives. Identifies and leverages opportunities for community Investment, partnerships, strategic grantmaking, advocacy and collective impact.
Stakeholder Engagement: Initiates and manages engagement with elected officials, public agencies, institutional leaders and other key external stakeholders to gain support for and collaboration in strategic community health work. Serves as a knowledgeable representative of KP on collaboratives and working groups. Engages Regional and Program Office leadership and other key internal stakeholders to support execution of community health strategies.
Communications: Guides communications strategies related to jurisdictional work, represents KP in local, regional and national presentations, conferences, media interviews, and other public facing activities.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
Minimum ten (10) years of combined relevant experience in in the areas of community based public health initiatives, policy, systems, environmental change strategies, and healthcare
Minimum three (3) years of experience managing staff or project teams. Education

Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Social Work or related field or OR six (6) years of experience in a directly related field.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration

Proven success at building and maintaining relationships with community-based organizations, community coalitions/collaborative, and networks.
Solid written and oral communication skills that demonstrate cultural competence and ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of policy approaches to public health improvement.
Existing and emerging knowledge of best practices in organizing and implementing community health policies/programs. Proven project management skills, and ability to maintain high productivity amid competing priorities.
Proven ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure.
Ability to prioritize and manage own work; exercise independent judgment, initiative and motivation. Proven ability to think strategically, act tactically and follow through to produce deliverables.
Professional history of stability and progressive success.
Demonstrated skills in problem solving in a complex environment, and ability to work effectively and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in leading initiatives with diverse stakeholders.
Experience in community investment/grant proposal review and/or writing.

PhD Degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Social Work or related field.
