The Managerwill work in partnership with market, line of business and internal and external stakeholder groups to create and implement community strategies and grant investments that:- align with our Future Edge investment strategy- serve the community’s highest needs and- deliver business returns including Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), business development, associate engagement and reputationPrimary Responsibilities- Lead corporate grant making and nonprofit relationship management in Central Virginia (Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, Hanover, and Colonial Heights) and Card strategic investments - Establish and manage a portfolio of nonprofit partnerships that maximize and meet targets for CRA, reputation, associate engagement and business development - Create and balance a portfolio of grants that responds to the company's Future Edge strategy and market-level CRA goals- Evaluate grantee performance, outcomes and return on philanthropic investments- Partner closely with the Community Affairs team to ensure that grants are supporting volunteerism goals as defined by the business and CRA assessments- Collaborate and coordinate with other grant makers across Community Affairs that are supporting other lines of business and/or in markets - Work in partnership with line of business and corporate partner teams (including but not limited to US Card, CRA Compliance, Community Development Banking, Community Finance, Corporate Communications, Brand, etc.) to achieve goals- Identify and sustain mutually productive relationships with key community leaders and connect associates and executives as appropriate - Lead executive board placement in Central Virginia- Represent Capital One in the community through networking, public speaking, and event attendance- Successfully managemultiple budgets, meet quarterly forecast projections, and ensure grant applicants provide appropriate documentation- Ensure that grants are 'CRA review-ready' when they are approved- Maintain effective and efficient best practices in process, problem solving and decision-makingThe Team Member we are looking for will have:- An authentic, optimistic, fun, innovative, resilient, collaborative and open-minded personality- Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to influence and comfortably interact with senior executives, community leaders, associates, and business partners- A deep knowledge and understanding of trends in economic opportunity, corporate social responsibility, quality nonprofit programming and philanthropy; ability to clearly and comfortably communicate value and ROI related to grant making- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects and activities with a wide variety and volume of partners while managing change and shifting priorities- Substantial analytical skills with a keen instinct on how to gather and interpret meaningful data- Powerful partnership building and relationship management skills- Corroborated experience in achieving 'win-win,' measurable outcomes through corporate-community partnerships- First-rate interpersonal skills with a talent to naturally build and maintain relationships at all levels and strategically leverage relationships appropriately- Function independently and as a leader within the Community Affairs team- A working knowledge of Community Reinvestment ActBasic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or military experience- At least five years of experience in either community relations, program management, grant making, or a combination of the three  Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree, preferably in corporate social responsibility, business, public relations, communications or related field- Financial Services experience- Six years of experience in community relations, grant making or equivalent nonprofit and community-facing roles- Nonprofit or corporate philanthropy work history in Central Virginia - Graphic design experience- Written communications professional experience- Experience meeting Community Reinvestment Act goalsAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. ,educationRequirements:West Creek 6 (12076), United States of America, Richmond, VirginiaAt Capital One, we’re building a leading information-based technology company.
