The chore program director is responsible for the daily chore allocation in public interest organizations. He is responsible for development of yearly goals, objectives, and policy and procedure changes. The chore program director also writes a draft of budgetary needs with staff and is responsible for purchasing program supplies and allocating the funds to use received from others to the organization. He also supervises the public interest volunteers working for the organization and takes an active part in formulating the recruiting policies. The chore program director assigns chores to his staff and develops, manages, and executes methods for publicizing program information through brochures and ads depending on the type of public interest organization it is. Lastly, the chore program director has to maintain and coordinate working relationships with other service organizations.
A Masters degree in social work or related field or equivalent experience will suffice the post of the chore program director. Minimum 3 – 5 years supervisory experience with staff and volunteers, older adults and disabled adults, customer relations, social service delivery systems, government agencies and the like, is also required for the post.
